Don’t forget that Apple is notorious for putting the screws to their suppliers and sucking up all the margin. So no control, no credit, and no money. SIGN ME UPPPP

This is why Waymo is doing it right. They’ve been at it for a decade, perfecting every little thing they can for actual full self-driving (no driver at all), and only very recently allowing non-test-drivers to use their services, in a controlled environment. By all accounts it truly performs better than most actual

Straight to the electric chair.

Can they protest the weird incestuous undertones in everything next?

True self-driving already exists. Waymo is doing it, and already driving better than humans in Phoenix. It doesn’t handle all weather yet, but considering we basically went from nothing to the current state in a decade, it’s not unlikely that in another decade cars will drive better than humans in almost any condition.

That’s a knockoff Playstation Move controller and you can’t convince me otherwise.

Is there any proof that it’s people speeding that caused issues, or just the faster flow of traffic in general due to fewer vehicles? It’s a lot harder to get into a fatal collision during bumper-to-bumper rush hour than when everyone is going 70.

According to the National Safety Council as many as 42,060 people died last year

OMG stop with this slideshow nonsense.

Trust, but verify.

No joke, one of the reasons I didn’t consider Cadillac when I was shopping for my car was because I’d have to deal with GM dealers.

How does it feel to be such a piece of shit that doesn’t care at all about the lives of others?

It’s everywhere, and super annoying. People talking about market cap like it means money available. People talking about revenues like it means profit. People talking about changes in stock price without context or comparison to the overall market.

The difference, IMO, is that tech companies often claim to be more moral than other industries. Everyone expects oil companies and banking to be shitty, but tech is supposed to be the future, so there’s a lower tolerance there.

It turns out that lots of gamers are shitheads, and if you run a company that caters to gamers, you need to weigh the risk of alienating those shitheads. If it’s the difference between the company making or losing money, doing the right thing morally becomes a hard decision financially. Moral people losing money will

Dehumanizing people is the problem. Further dehumanization of people is not the solution to that problem.

That drives me insane. Nobody would blink if you rolled up in a brand new loaded Explorer, but drive a decade old German car you got for $10k and they think you’re Richie Rich.

How is this not a super obvious outcome? It’s hard to get into a fatal accident when you’re in 5mph rush hour traffic.
