Oh my god! I thought I had made that up! We must have had that book too.
Well, I'm glad someone got some use out of those things.
We used to do that too! We also used to put laundry baskets on our heads and pretend we were R2-D2.
Count me as another one who doesn't have a conscious first memory. I was born in 1981 and had two older brothers who already had lots of Star Wars toys and books. The memory that does stand out is of my brothers and I engaging in fierce lightsaber duels - aka wiffle ball bats. All of our wiffle ball bats had to be…
I'm still in the middle of London: A Biography by Peter Ackroyd. It's an interesting read - just about every page had some weird little bit of information. He does tend to jump around centuries so it takes me a moment to figure out which era I'm in. It's a bit slower going than I would like but that's mainly…
All that plus people who are so insecure about their "coolness" that they feel the need to score points on top of other people's tragic deaths.
I love shrimp but I would need to make sure a) the shrimp isn't given to me all at once and b) the shrimp is already peeled so I don't have to think about the fact that they're basically large, hideous looking insects.
Nah - Stephen would defninitely say something like "cock holster." Don't forget, he was one of the writers of Strangers with Candy. Being a gentleman mainly means he knows when it's appropriate to get a little dirty.

I agree with the overall argument that the Internet isn't segregating people as much as people claim. But I feel like this is going too far the other way. I don't know anyone who isn't in regular contact with someone with different political views. The people on Facebook whose opinions we find abhorrent are usually…

I'll probably give it read even though I don't expect to find anything new. It's MGM plus Kelly grew up in Pittsburgh. I really hope Betsy Blair isn't given the short shrift because she's a really interesting person in her own right. She has her own memoir, The Memory of All That, that's worth a read.
I don't necessarily agree that Weiner was responsible for the results of the election but I'm glad that argument is out there. Weiner obviously doesn't care about his family but he did seem to genuinely care about politics and hopefully that makes him feel extra shitty about his behavior.
I'm still unable to eat Sun Chips without thinking of Mitch.

For no particular reason, here's Charles Dance talking about having tea with a chimpanzee:

Renaming it CuckHole would have saved you a lot of re-typing. But I guess PatriotHole also works.
If they ever do a Cabin Pressure reunion special, this is definitely going to be the plot.
I think Trump's overall relationship with Russia is like what happened with the foreign minister: Russia didn't ask for the information Trump gave them, he just volunteered it because, even though he's the president, he still feels the need to show off how powerful he is. There doesn't have to be direct collusion —…
