Compared to most British television, Doctor Who is a huge time commitment in terms of number of episodes plus (now) worldwide promotion. Tennant in particular does a lot of stage work but was almost unable to do Hamlet because of Who.

What are people's thoughts about the Missing Richard Simmons podcast? It sounds interesting but I have a visceral feeling of discomfort about it. The New York Times interviewed the guy who runs it and asked him, if Simmons just wants to be out of the spotlight, shouldn't he be left alone. And the guy didn't answer…
Are we now moving the Trump stories to GJI because no one wants to click on the Newswire stories anymore?
BRITISH PANEL SHOWS:
Apparently if you listen closely, you can hear the kid say "Why, mom?" in Korean.
I have been watching this over and over again all morning. Everyone's giving credit to the kids but the mom is the funniest part.
It just seems that way because Disqus keeps logging us out.
IT'S FRIDAY BUT THERE ARE NO BRITISH PANEL SHOWS TODAY:
Have you seen Hot Fuzz? That's where I've found most non-Anglophiles know her from.
When did Capaldi start being talked about? I remember hearing it and dismissing it but only about a month or so before it was announced. (I'd have to got through my Facebook history and find when I posted "There is no way in hell they're going to cast Malcolm Tucker as the next Doctor" to know exactly when I first…
I haven't read the book but from what I heard, they changed a lot about the ending.
I have mixed feelings about that. It would be nice to have everyone see how wonderful Colman is but being the Doctor seems as much of a hassle as a joy. I think I'd still rather see her be able to do the wide variety of projects she's able to now rather than be stuck in the Doctor Who machine for a few years. (I'm…
Agree. It was a nicely contained thing. Hiddles' was the least interesting character in the thing and trying to turn what is essentially a blank slate into a franchise isn't really going to work.
I agree but, from the Deadline article:
In a cheekily ominous tone, referencing his character Richard Roper, star Hugh Laurie added, “You don’t see me die…”
I haven't. I'm kind of in the category of not really getting Harry Hill's stuff. I don't mind when he shows up on other things but a full series of him isn't anything I specifically seek out.
Ideally, it would just be another case that Olivia Colman's character is working on (possibly bringing a certain Scottish bloke as her new agent). But if there is a second season, I assume they would just shoehorn some way for Hiddles and Hugh Laurie to return.

Dammit, that's who I thinking of! All those guys are blending together to me.
What about the one who killed Kennedy?
