I agree there were a lot of other problems with the US version. I was just trying to make the point that Paul Hollywood is probably the least essential part of the show.

"Bake Off" is trademarked by Pillsbury. Although I think "Baking Show" sounds stupid.

It's been around since 2010 in the UK. Last year's finale was, I think, the most watching thing on British television that year.

I love the show and will genuinely miss it. And yet I am very happy that Mel, Sue and Mary Berry have all left it and effectively doomed the move. (As we have seen in the US version, Paul Hollywood is not enough.) It's nice to see something so high profile illustrating the value of the BBC as something more than

In Great British Bake Off news, Mary is out but Paul will be staying for three seasons. Assuming it lasts that long.

Hey, I just mentioned this book the other day in the article about GI Joe. It really is a good book and I actually think it has some great moments that could make a good series. However, it's also almost 20 years old so I'm surprised to see it suddenly being adapted.

That seems like a ridiculously unrealistic goal unless they plan on drastically reducing their overall content. And saying that they're "a third to halfway to where we want to be" doesn't make sense.

I ended up watching a bunch of episodes of The Last Leg over the weekend. It was great to see any coverage of the Paralympics and especially to have a show where two of the three cast members can talk about their own experiences with physical disabilities.

Will we get to poke him with a stick?

We've had a Kevin McDonald and Mark McKinney interview within the same month. This pleases me.

I'm sure you've seen his "All I Care About is Love" performance at the Tonys but you may not have seen his "Razzle Dazzle" performance on Mike Douglas: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

Good god, no. Jerry Orbach deserves so much better.

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. In my opinion, you're overestimating the importance of her illness and underestimating the danger of legitimizing Trump's narrative.

Do you doubt it is being treated or that it wouldn't have been treated if she didn't disclose it? Does knowing that she has an illness make any difference in whether you're going to vote for her or not? All you're doing is arguing that Donald Trump may have been right when he was harping on Clinton's health and

But would you have been concerned at all about her health if it weren't for Trump and media priming you to believe that it was an issue? Why even engage in that conversation when you already know it's bullshit?

I'd argue that if she announced she had pneumonia the media narrative would have been exactly the same. The fact that a bout of pneumonia was being used to legitimize claims that she is on death's door already shows the level of rationality we're dealing with.

Wasn't Tim Curry who Mark Hamill replaced in B:TAS?

I always forget that Josh Charles was in Dead Poets Society. I think it's because I'm constantly distracted by baby faced Robert Sean Leonard.

Yeah, I think "Miracle Day" killed it off more than anything. Fortunately, Torchwood fans have always proven themselves quite measured and restrained when it comes to disappointing news and probably didn't bother Moffat too much.
