I'll always support anything that gives Horgan a higher profile over here. If anyone is interested, the episode of Chain Reaction where she's interviewed by Olivia Colman is still available: http://www.bbc.co.uk/progra…

I hope they played Totoro second.
Was this really part of a double feature with My Neighbor Totoro or is that an urban myth?
You might want to check out The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It's been a while since I read it but I remember loving it.
I read them in that order also. I didn't find Doctor Sleep too bad - I think it helped that there aren't many mentions of the Overlook or Jack. It could almost be a complete standalone. You might be amused to find a quick reference to NOS4A2 in Doctor Sleep.
I guess I'm pretty much a dinosaur in that I'm still a TV browser. I didn't even have FX on my Favorites list but tuned in to watch Fargo. And I don't know that I would ever have gotten into How It's Made if I hadn't stumbled upon it. I don't know that I want to have to anticipate which channels are going to be…
Compared to Andy Zaltzman he certainly isn't. Few people are, though.
That pizza is almost as disgusting as the burger with a hot and potato chips the local Hardee's is selling. As someone who likes pizza crust, I'm annoyed by this trend of reducing pizza crust.
If you could borrow a character or monster from another game to put in yours, which would you choose?
It's cute how he's pretending this is actually ever going to happen…
Anyone who's seen Cumberbatch in his Sherlock coat knows he's already got flourishing down pat.
My point of reference is Sondheim's Assassins musical. Czolgosz's song is particularly catchy.
Long live the bumbling badger of mediocrity!
Yes, but Michael Sheen is also a man who uses a vegetable peeler to peel an onion.
My favorite In Our Time exchange was this from the Black Hole episode (based on what I can remember):
It's Tony Jordan who also did Life on Mars so I'm willing to take a look. Plus Caroline Quentin who I don't see often enough. But without dinosaurs, zombies and an alien invasion, it doesn't look like it'll be as good as Bleak Expectations.
Are you suggesting there were episodes of Doug beyond the Nickelodeon run? If there were, I refuse to acknowledge their existence.
But when will Noah's episode of Would I Lie to You? be on? He'll be on David Mitchell's team along with Richard Hammond. (Sadly, though, it was recorded before 1) Noah was named the new TDS host, 2) Top Gear imploded and 3) Mitchell became a father. Still, I can't wait to see that combo.)
Tuesday's episode was a good example of this. Rashida Jones seemed like she had something serious to say about young women entering the porn industry (since she was there to plug the documentary about it) but it was lost since the other guests just wanted to joke about how awesome porn is.
Agreed. I think the show has a lot of strong writers and researchers who do a lot of what Jon is given credit for. Noah's biggest challenge is going to be the interviews.
