Ugh I don't understand how the media play this game as well. Shouldn't there be people out there (well, say, outside of Gawker Media) who ask about those stories and ask about the police justifications? Isn't that the exact role of the media?

Why does Massachusetts still pirate a year old FIFA??

Spaghetti with a bacon curry cream sauce.

I seriously wonder how the HQ cannot see all you explained as a problem. It seems to me as if they would go for the technically easiest solution to a barely-existing problem. Allowing anonymous feedback by not tracking the IP of everyone? They have A FUCKING GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER THAT DOES NOT TRACK AND EVEN GIVES A

I do not understand why Kinja doesn't, say, deletes the IP adress after 3 hours, to ensure the safety of hypothetical tipsters (and other weird people who might post weird stuff that is not violent porn but do not want to be tracked) while providing a non-tracking feedback tool, such as a simple e-mail form?

tell me how not

Oh? Please. You are stating: If X helps you, there might be n number of theories, but the fact that X helps you (subjectively) is what is important. This is not true.

No straw-manning here. I am not saying gluten intolerance does not exist. I am not saying gluten-free diet may not help with certain diseases. I am only pointing out that you are making a false claim.

Ha, no. Science is about understanding the results. Otherwise, you just show that input A invokes output B without actually understanding what happens, why it happens, and if an unseen output C or even input D happened.

I will not call you a sexist prick, but I will point out how ridiculously wrong you are. Thankfully FIFA released numbers on how many people watched the last women's World Cup on TV.

Yeah, but that happens all the time. When a player needs extended care but can play on, he is taken off the field to be treated by the physio. This includes injuries such as cuts in the face (think Schweinsteiger).

Sure. Oh while we are at it, let's have them use their hand as well. Oh, and maybe they should be allowed to tackle. Oh, and why do we need goals, what about just having an end zone? Oh, I got it: Didn't they call it "Rugby" in the early days?

Note that it's the team doctor who takes the decision. Sure, that will work.

How is Vlog still a word? I thought that died with MySpace.

After having heavy acne as a teenager, and getting rid of it with some medication, I occasionally still have some of those m-fuckers somewhere on my body. Last summer I had one behind my ear that pressed against the sensible parts up there. Fuck, that was awful. First time in years I went to a doctor. After a week of

Meh, it's more complicated than just find it inadmissible, though to American ears it must surely sound like that. Free speech is great, net neutrality is great too. The US usually is very permissible and values free speech over any other personal rights, such as to control the information about yourself.

Look, there are some cultural differences in the perception of free speech and privacy between Europe (most of it, anyway) and the US. Generally, Europeans think that free speech needs to be weighted with other personal rights, while in the US free speech is near absolute.

TYPO ALERT!!!

This video from a Swiss assurance ad perfectly shows the merits of drones at weddings. Cheers!

The American system is pretty good to work out the middle ground over time. That is what will happen in the next 10 years ago. A populist party could work right now (and in a lot of senses it already does), but I believe will inevitebly lose to blue dog democrats again. (Remember http://xkcd.com/1127/large/ ?)
