Riding shotgun with an old school [late 1970s] rally driver was pucker ... I have slammed a car into the rail avoiding a moron merging into me on a standard highway doing 70 and honestly unless you roll or get t-boned it really isn't that bad once the actual slam on the side is finished.

This. I have issues wrapping my mind around people who let their kids get away with eating nothing but chicken fingers/nuggets, fries, pizza and PBJ sandwiches [or whatever] - we grew up eating pretty much anything that didn't eat us first. I feel guilty because I refuse to eat okra, eggplant, zucchini, kale and

I have always liked phosphemes [those phantom lights and images you see when your eyes are shut] and have noticed that for a short time [maybe half an hour or so] I will see vague images in my phosphemes of whatever I was just doing in game before logging off and going to bed. Usually it is something like the iso-view

It is a bit lacking [ I like shredded carrots, garbonzo beans, kernals of corn, maybe some green peas, some garlic croutons, spinach ... maybe some blue cheese crumbles] but if it is what she likes, big meh - let her have it.

Hm, next time I am near one I will have to give them a try, I love sweet potato tempura.

Well, any kale I have had when raw had the same sort of solid papery and resiliant texture that a tyvec envelope has. And when cooked [I have had it stir fried, in soup and steamed by people telling me that I just never had it prepared correctly, same as okra which is solid slime or oozy slime] it is either still

I hate keyboard drawers so I put the stuff on the keyboard drawer. Never gets in the way, and I can access it easily when I need to.

Like a friend we refer to as swayve and de-boner [with a good southern twang added] Couples and good friends can have way too much fun with words =)

Hm, that looks more chartreuse to me.

Sorry, I grew up starting at 5 years old in a small town in south western NY state [google Perry NY ...] And I can categorically state that unless it could be obtained frozen or canned, it was not available in the veggie section. My brother and I were probably the only kids that had any sort of aquatic life form that

I cheat, I grew up bilingual English and French.

Nonfancy way of referring to more or less polenta. Corn/Maize/Indian Meal mush. Grits are made of a white corn meal not yellow, but it is effectively the same.

heavy breathing ...

Except for the long skinny tempra shrimp that we used to sell an amazing amount of when I worked at US Foodservice back in the late 1990s, and up until probably 3 years ago was a popular item at BJ's Wholesale club.

Back in the 1980s my husband was in more than one exercise with 2 full carrier battle groups and over a dozen subs ... and that was just the US participation. Compared to the over 80 surface vessels and dozen undersea, this is mingy.

I am stuck in a small town in Connecticut - I would be freaking thrilled if I could dependably get decent artichokes in season instead of the tiny crappy frostbitten crap tat slowly filters its way here and gets sold for premium prices.

Female, 53 years old, currently drive a diesel VW Jetta [2006] - when I bought it 3 years ago I specifically searched New England for a diesel VW to replace the one my husband flipped. I get peeved by the jackasses that don't realize the waste stream production and discard hazmat issues that their precious damned

Because the current crop of kids never got fed liver beause the 60s and 7s generation got fed dry nasty improperly cooked liver [for the most part]

The recipe is for heart, but it also can work for liver, just liver takes a lot less time to cook - though the gentle heat cooking is definitely what you do with liver.

That is why we have 'kosher salt' and the act of soaking something to remove blood is called 'koshering' =)
