I too, also enjoyed this film. Mainly because of the high stylistic nature and yes, the deeper meaning behind it all. But then, I also enjoyed Sky Captain quite a lot as well. You are not alone!

Regarding XV, the demos have always had the teaser animations for summons- the true beholders of awe were late in the game.
