William Hobbs, when allowed to be a bit more realistic, probably balances showmanship with realism the best out of any fight choreographer. The Duelists is spectacular for that and many other reasons.

This confirms two things for me when it comes to movies: A) Rob Roy is the winner of greatest movie swordfight ever, because it looks like Liam Neeson and Tim Roth are actually swordfighting and not Flynning and B) why the Obi-Wan/Vader confrontation in A New Hope still holds up more than the prequel Cirque Du Soleil
