I’m sure lots of people had problems with it, but we’ve been using the HBO MAX app for a couple of years and never had any significant issues with it. Like, occasionally something would go wrong (usually it would sit there trying to load something forever, remedied by trying again), but no more so than any other

Yeah, I don’t get it. HBO Max had a rough launch, but it’s been the streamer that we’ve watched the most consistently in our house over the past few years. Seriously: Succession, Barry, Hacks, The Righteous Gemstones, The Last of Us, Starstruck, The Flight Attendant, Mare of Easttown, Starstruck, The Tourist, Perry

I’m sorry, you think David Zaslav’s favorite movie is Chocolat?

this is kind of a bootlicker take. HBO Max didn’t have an easy start but eventually offered more quality content than nearly any other streaming platform. And that would have been without the HBO Max originals like the Flight Attendant which were better than they should have been...with Showtime’s mostly boring

Yeah, he’s a brilliant player and I really never want to have the non-Buckethead version of him (if there is one) made public because the world is more interesting with just the version we have.

Brilliant pedigree...How many people can you name that backed The Vandals, Devo, Sting, Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring, Weezer, Mike Ness, and Paramore? He is still considered THE man to call for any fill in for band tours or session drumming with the amount of adaptation he can do. He can even mimic styles quickly

LOL, listening to him talk about Axl & Buckethead (sorry, “Brian”) never gets old.

Freese seems like the perfect choice for them. Solid professional drummer, knows how to rock, can sing if necessary, has goofy dad vibes.

Relevant to every article about another tone deaf and ignorant CEO:

You assuming you know more about a person from a collection of sound bites then the person that’s dating him and has known him for years says pretty much everything that needs to be said about fan entitlement.

It’s always the way. Nobody gave Bill Wyman or Charlie Watts props either.

Best rhythm section in rock!

Thank god Morrissey kept it classy. I was afraid we’d have another dismissive comment about Rourke being just a “session musician”.

The frustrating thing about this is that Disney and FX are increasingly unwilling to release their content to physical media.

I’m looking forward to “Best in Whoa”, the competitive Joey Lawrence impersonation show.

Vast libraries of content are the main reason I have subscriptions to HBO and Disney. Cutting things like this really deincentivizes me from continuing a subscription. They seem to think one or too big shows at a time is all people want. That is not the case.

While I think my favorite Ballard adaptation is still “High Rise” with my man Hiddleston, the best book of his that always resonates with me is “Concrete Island” hell that at least makes me drive the speed limit.

Loved loved loved Tideland. I had always assumed that I was the only person who had ever seen it as nobody else seems to have even heard of it. I much prefer this Gilliam to when he has an actual budget.

Seriously, fuck Mamet, and fuck anyone who would want to work with this deranged asshole at this point. He’s like the play/movie writer version of Frank Miller for comic books. Their early work was lauded as a cutting deconstruction of toxic masculinity, fascism and homophobia, then their later works show that, wait,

She was a real standout in Andor for me, her character felt lived in and hardened by the years working for the resistance - tough as old boots.
