Ah, this is a bummer. Simmons and Spacek were amazing in it, but I can see why some people couldn’t latch onto the show. It was nice seeing an older couple like that on screen that wasn’t there solely to act as a plot point for other characters. That being said, I wasn’t interested in the other characters nearly as

Yeah, I can see that. Like a sanitized version of “After Hours”, which I thought captured what it was like roaming the streets of NY back then. I actually liked Seinfeld at the time. I just ignored that it was supposed to be NYC.

They’re in the same universe. Both shows had cross-overs with Mad About You.

Friends must’ve taken place in the same NYC as Seinfeld. That NYC wasn’t nearly as fun or interesting as the one I knew.

“Shame!”

There’s a pretty good biography on PKD that I read years ago called “I Am Alive and You Are Dead: A Journey into the Mind of Philip K. Dick” by Emmanuel Carrère that was a pretty interesting read. According to that book, PKD was having hallucinations even before his decent into drugs and unfortunately, A Scanner

Hollywood has never translated PKD’s in a way that felt like his stories - with the exception of “A Scanner Darkly”. I think a lot of people got turned off by the visual style, but it’s closer to the feeling of PKD than any other adaption I can think of.

That tracks with what my friends said. They found it condescending, so I don’t use the word.

It’s the one thing my Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Mexican friends all seem to agree on. They really hate that word. I have an Argentinian friend who hates it, but he says some of the younger generation back home seem to be the only people that like it and there is a push to revise the language, but he thought

same.

I have an idea: Let’s cast the delightful comic actor Maya Erskine in this and then give her almost no dialogue or anything else to do.

right. Spider-Man. That makes more sense.

the guy who makes rice?

or Obi in A New Hope!

Why does Kit Harington always look like he’s about to burst into tears? Is he OK? If a rich and famous actor who looks like that can’t be happy what’s the hope for the rest of us?

She was the best thing in No Time to Die.

We tried to put the very same thing on something on a show I was working on and our S&P did not find it amusing at all.

You know whats really good on hash? A fried egg with a runny yolk...delicious!
