Yeah, Phaidon puts out some GREAT books and I’m a fan of theirs. If you’re into Brutalist architecture, they put out a book called, This Brutal World that is really great.

I wish I could give you more stars for bringing in Dieter Rams into the conversation. The book “Less but better” is worth a look for anyone even marginally interested in design.

Because I started on Macs and because of what I do for a living, I’m an Apple user, but that being said...my 80 gig scroll wheel iPod is the last Apple product that I truly love.

Now playing

I hope it has a scene at least as half as weird as this one from eXistence:

I was so close to getting it right too.

“Sergio Kitchens cookin’ on the mic!”

I find it surprising that any gentlemen with the nom de plumes of “Young Thug” or “Gunna” would be involved in any activity this unsavory.

A definite must see for me.

I know a lot of people who met and worked Mr Perez. Never, ever did I hear a bad word about the man. In fact, just the opposite. He was always gracious with his time to fans and young artists seeking advice.

Tell me more about the 60 sandwiches!

I guess The Rocketeer isn’t considered a “superhero” in the traditional sense, but is he any less of a superhero than Batman? Batman doesn’t have powers either. At the time, I thought The Rocketeer movie was one of the closest adaptions from comic to film. I think it holds up and is a lot of fun.

Yup. This Gen Xer made sure his nieces got their own copies of the Scholastic editions of Bone for Christmas. Got to make sure they grow up to have good taste.

Adaptations of books help support the people who made the books. Unless they’re one of the rare mega-name authors, adaptations are great advertising for new readers to read the originals.

I think part of the problem with adapting Bone into an animated feature is that a lot of the executives don’t know what they have when they get the property. I was at Nickelodeon many, many years ago when they were going to do a movie based on Bone. I was working on development for another show and I saw that they had

I thought it was a dialogue, not an argument, but OK. Periscope and Vine were the two examples that came to mind first because once their popularity rose, they were acquired by Twitter and no longer a threat as far as competition once acquired. It’s a lot like what happened to companies like Zappos and Diapers.com

Like who? They bought third-party Twitter apps.

Twitter is just Twitter, and it’s nowhere near as big or as widely used as Facebook.

I would eat Larry David though. I like me some kosher beef.

I was unaware of the banning. I’m not on Twitter or FB, so I’m only looking at it from the outside. Perhaps I am wrong about my assessment. I was basing it on things he had done in the past like that weird dog coin thing.

Well, OK, but at the very least, these platforms need to be broken up into smaller companies so that they no longer have a monopoly. Every time a competing platform comes out, one of the big 3 gobbles them up and absorbs them.
