And having lived in several major Indiana cities, I can confirm that the bus systems there are adequate at best. Anyone using a bus in Indy, E-ville, Ft. Wayne or South Bend are doing so because they have to, not because they want to. And they receive (unfortunately) the bare minimum of service.

The automatic gear box on the ICE versions are horrible. At normal, low speeds it is impossible to get it to upshift so you are on this constant whine. Dropping down to low speed it won’t downshift properly and you become a slug.

A 40-mile range with a Smart ED? Mine is 7 years old and still manages 73-miles of range (without A/C). With A/C I can get 58-miles of range.

Leaving Florida for Europe for a month. I think I’m improving my situation.

Flying in to Paris next week. Air France just requires my CDC vax card. France “requires” a pass sanitaire, which you apply for online. Even if you do not receive the QR code before you arrive, reports are that CDC vax card is acceptable at this time. If necessary, just get an antigen test there for a 72-hour pass.

Skipping Woody Allen on purpose? Purple Rose of Cairo, Zelig, Broadway Danny Rose. There are probably more.

Try being an Indy Car fan. Often the rain is more interesting.

Then you have obviously not visited Belgium in the spring. That is the main attraction!

And a heartfelt “Thank you for your service”.

What Paul Kinsey doesn’t realize is that these stores do not commission size and packaging. They buy up custom size/packing overruns or out of stock for the original provider. The custom size/shape is a Walmart ploy so competitors cannot price match on an exact item.

How about being in the grays after having to create a new account because...Kinja?

Word. Lived in Phoenix for 14 years. This is a way of life for folks on the edge. They wish they had better options, but don’t. Fuck payday loan places.

They are not targeting a demographic as much as they are targeting rural, underserved markets. Columbus, IN has a Kroger store. The outlying communities have 20 DoGen’s to shop that are within 5 miles of their home. The next Kroger is in either Bloomington to the west or Madison to the south. The area is better served

The offering is price rather that cost/ounce. And if you ever go to any of these stores they more typically offer standard size packaging, as the mini sizes are bulk close-out purchases, not steady stock.

What none of the research took into consideration is that DoGen and others are building in grossly underserved areas. Instead of having to drive the 20 miles to a chain grocery or Walmart, these are based far more locally to rural markets. They provide convenience and a value that folks that are not at the edge of

Some of this is due to the trip/mileage/range computer. Mine typically will revert to what it “knows” from my last trip to give me an estimated range. But my range then increases on my next drive because of different conditions that it is now “learning”. I used to head out on a full charge early on Sunday mornings up

Great suggestion. I’m fairly certain that heat draws more than A/C. This is just based on my usage. Battery drain while in park using the A/C is minimal. Heat, however, causes noticeable battery drain.

I’ve had my Smart ED for 5 years now. My daily commute was pretty short at around 8 miles total. But having limited range did make it a bit dicey if I had to meet with people on the other side of town during the day.

As others have noted, highway speeds and ambient temperature certainly affect performance. Also keep in mind any use of A/C, heater or heated seats. And if driving at night, headlights.

The new logo is nice. But still a Kia.
