Saying as how Gotham puts a lot of work into trying to seem timeless, your point about Capone's prohibition wars is probably where that plot in this episode arose. Obviously copying a real detail from 1920s crime syndicate tactics doesn't _make sense_ with modern technology, but Gotham is not supposed to make sense

And that a nightclub in that half of the city would be forced to buy liquor from nearby stores, rather than any stores from the other
