Now Lux, I have to take issue here - I saw that documentary late last year, and it has haunted me ever since!

Baby echidnas are called puggles. How cute is that?

I remember that years ago, Peter Weir was attached to a project about Maskelyne. And I also seem to remember that Tom Cruise was slated for the lead, which sounds like an odd choice.

At the very beginning of the movie, it's implied that Damon's character has a heart condition that excused him from the draft.

Leverett Saltonstall or GTFO

AHHHH MAN, this is too good. John Goodman is a national treasure. Thanks Jason!

Indeed we do!

Whatever happened to Hat?

*Teeth-shattering atonal chord*

This news disappoints me, but since your username confirms that you were, in fact, in the audience for the film, I will heed your warning.

"Hell yeah: Martin Short" is right! Of all the great folks cast in this film, I might actually be most excited about seeing him.

Exactly! I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of plot just to spend an hour or two in the company of Hoffman, Keener, and Walken.

I know some professional musicians took exception with the actor's efforts, but as a layman, I found it all pretty convincing.

I've seen this film a number of times and enjoy it thoroughly. It does rely a little too heavily on cliches, but the cast is so strong that it's very forgivable. And Hoffman, as he always did, turns a character who may have seemed rather odious in another actor's hands into a complicated, sensitive soul.

Plus, Walter Matthau!

SAUL BASS!!!

Those are two excellent titles, and in both Cary Grant is as effortlessly cool as is humanly possible.

Yeah, the reviews have been a touch discouraging, but I think with a cast like this, it'll still make for enjoyable popcorn fare, especially in the cinematic tundra of February.

"Ok, here's how it goes: I'm the leader, Matt is my loyal sidekick, John's the tough guy, Bill's the smart guy, and Bob's the quiet nebbishy guy who ends up going crazy. And now, the time has come to cross this line into mystery and danger - to step out of childhood and become Monuments Men."
