@mvd7793: from the official sound of ATT, Apple and Deutsh Telekom (T-mobile Germany) this thing outsold their wildest dreams ~ i'm sure they expected bigger sales then the 3GS, but all 3 are reporting a 10x increase, that's got to be well beyond even their best estimates.

@jzp.unltd: but Sprint did, i thought those numbers got cut back to 150k?

@Lite: an adventurer is me!: they released the Gold Master @ WWDC last week ~ this is just them selling through multiple allotments: they know what's coming in (as likely the first few allotments are on boats in the Pacific right now), even if they ramp up production today it's not going to be until say the 8-10 weeks…

yeah, doesn't this just mean the first AND 2nd allotments are now sold out and if you order today you are waiting for the 3rd allotment?

@ehejl: i think the thought is, it's a win-win to release back-catalog titles out like this, ala the Wii VC. make a NES app that you download free and then maintain an in-ap game store for. same for SNES.

when are the new systems supposed to hit retail?

...and, i just got sold on an xbox (don't have cable and my Father-in-Law is a sports nut.) dang, and i was leaning PS3...

that's just almost confirmation enough that someone else is getting the iPhone later this year. It looks like ATT is absolutely DESPERATE to hold onto customers...

@Cintax: i think he's got a plenty-solid enough track record. IIRC he was the first person who even hinted @ the multi-touch trackpad that we saw pix of today.

I'm really curious about the design of iPad2 (and iPod touch 2010) ~ will it keep the same (or same-ish) form factor or go in an iPhone direction.

@Schalliol: i'd imagine it ends up with more like 1.5x upres then double ~ Doubled be overkill and i'd think a BEAST for video memory.

@gizgizgiz: if apples branding it you gotta figure they have plans to bring it across the line eventually ~ a 300dpi iMac would be glorious...
