In Canada the CX-3 starts around the same price as the Trax and EcoSport, so it’s priced for its market. They are all too expensive though, so I agree with you.

If Saturn wasn’t dead, a Quad-coupe CUV on the MokkaX/Encore/Trax platform would’ve been something relatively easy to sell.

The CX-3 has a purpose, it’s a small hatchback with AWD. It does everything a Mazda2, Ford Fiesta or Chevy Spark do, but with AWD.

The CX-3 is a Mazda2, not a 3. Hence the anaemic engine paired with AWD.

Not saying SPCCI is bad for generators, just that there is not much need for on the fly variable modes in an engine that always run at the exact same load.

They make sense in warm and dry places I guess, they are plain commuters.
