Crying? Dude looks like a Steve Bannon style drug addict. Probably meth’d and roid’d up.

My ex is a cop with PTSD. I don’t know I went through a phase where I guess I was working through something (I’m a white passing POC and members of my family didn’t speak to me for as long as that situation lasted).

His family is claiming he has PTSD; he’s never been formally diagnosed. And if his PTSD was so bad that it made him kill a child them wtf was he doing on the streets?

Yeah but the rifle was not used for shots in the distance he shot into a car that was near him, so... kind of moot.

I’d bet dollars to donuts that he was trophy hunting. [Angry/sad/vomit face.]

My thoughts exactly. He’s crying for himself because history told him he’d get off.

The situation did not call for any sort of shooting at all. And a rifle requires a certain amount of care to use properly, meaning he made the conscious choice to take aim and fire and fire accurately on children without any real reason or confirmation of wrongdoing.

I have never seen a rifle up close. I know absolutely nothing about guns. So thanks for the clarification.

I didn’t know that! Thanks!

You can dismiss replies that are being jerks.

It would seem that could be a mitigating factor in this- not that I am excusing his behaviour. It also means that if the police dept knew of his PTSD, they are responsible in part for putting a guy out there who might be unstable in particular circumstances. With strong PTSD comes situations where the person responds

Frankly, it didn’t even occur to me to think about the type of gun used in this situation and whether it would be appropriate. So, for at least myself, thanks!

Good point, the rifle was overkill and shows he was looking to shoot. Tehre was no need to shoot at a car driving away, and with the extra stopping power and accuracy the odds that Jordan would be alive today are much greater.

*too

not everyone is a gun nut

Classic “I didn’t know I could get in trouble fot it” face

New details from the night reveal that Oliver got his rifle from the patrol car after another officer thought he heard shots fired from nearby the house.

I have little faith. He was crying for himself is my bet, or really hungover.

I think that someone willing to fire a rifle into a moving car is not likely to be feeling bad about killing a person, only that he experienced an unexpected consequence for it.

I wish his obvious remorse (he looks like he’s been crying) was for his victim instead of his own predicament.
