If you want a raw driving experience, expensive cars are increasingly not for you.

My 2004 Accent’s factory battery died in 2014. I mean, it can’t take much to turn over the little 1.6L I4, but still. A damn decade.

Well, I think the Dymaxion is rear-engine front-drive.

And Chrysler calls the 200 “America’s Import.”

The part of I-90 we were on had some very deep grooves worn in. He was trying to follow his wife (on the white FZ6R) and when he was getting back over from passing, hit the water-filled groove and lost traction on the rear. He tried to ride it out with weight over the front wheel, but went down anyways.

It was a freak storm. It was sunny one moment, then cats & dogs the next. Better yet, he had his riding gear in his backpack, which protected him from the guard rail. It was completely stupid luck. I’m V Star guy at 1:03.

9.6:1 advertised. Doesn’t seem super low, it’s on par with comparable cruiser engines like the V-Star 1300 engine, but on the other hand, Harley specs at least 91 octane (R+M/2), where as the V-Star engine specs 86 or higher.

Well, the Twin Cam 103 has 2-valve heads and is low-compression ratio and air-cooled. These things don’t work in its favor.

Torque at low RPM is pretty much the name of the game in cruisers. It especially doesn’t help your horsepower numbers when you’re low compression and air-cooled. The Vulcan 2000 is only good for about 100 hp, so its not like it’s a Harley-exclusive trait.

Does Korea’s GM need this many sub-brands?

Best: Probably a 2012 Golf GTI. I don’t test drive a whole bunch of cars, but I was shopping for a hot hatch and was pretty impressed by the feel of it. Ended up buying a Mazdaspeed 3, though.

Well, I was already at O’Reilly for ATF and a license plate frame, might as well get some hose for my catheter.

And we could call it the Elio!

I didn’t say anything about maintenance. You must be good at reading things that don’t even exist.

That shift pattern makes me very uneasy.

Braveness: Brave/100.

The zero-option Mirage still has a lot more features than my zero-option 2004 Hyundai Accent, which shipped with a cassette deck, crank windows, and manual locks. When I went and test drove a Mirage, there were a surprising amount of 5-speeds on the lot.
