And like the other two, he’s not a very smart person in general. Each succeeded in a very specific sphere, partly due to luck, yet each thinks he is an intellectual giant in general

He has a point; the people who systematically oppressed and de-humanized woman have long claimed it was being done for the good of woman. I mean keep them in the home and out of politics and business was done to spare their gentle souls from the horrors of the world.

and you haven’t even dove into his racism and homophobia, which everyone wants to keep forgetting with him for some reason

Oh, Oliver was completely right to go after Hoffman. But it was the type of event that in the past would’ve been just softball questions. Hell, even today, a less socially conscious moderator might’ve avoided the topic (Hoffman’s not at Weinstein level of accusations so it would’ve been easy to skirt around). That’s

It’s a little hard to have said blithe chitchat when there’s an 800-pound gorilla in the room, no?

Not to be too pedantic or anything, but Oliver’s grilling of Hoffman happened at an event that was meant to be blithe chit chat about a movie, so I think that might be what Baldwin was getting at (of course, it’s entirely possible that he has no idea who Oliver is or what his show is like).

Well I’m pissed that some actor is taking away a valuable slot on Saturday Night Live with an unfunny impression that’s worn out its welcome and relies on tired material while trying to spin it into something bigger for his career.

Why shouldn’t people concern themselves with the distinction again? A person accused of involuntary vehicular manslaughter isn’t immediately levied as a serial killer.

Baldwin, like his buddy Lorne Michaels and even like Donald Trump seems like one of those rich dudes who are so in love with themselves and their celebrity lifestyle that they have very little sense of the real world. I love him as an actor, especially on 30 Rock but he is way out of touch. Also his Trump impression

Yeah, that’s not actually a distinction we need to concern ourselves with right now. Oh, and it absolutely is something Hoffman has been accused of in multiple instances by several people.

If I were Baldwin I would be waiting until things cool down before drawing attention to myself. Dude’s closet is made out of skeletons.

John Oliver doesn’t have a talk show

Piss off, Force Ghost!

Of course they want Waititi! Who could pass up the opportunity to fire such a fantastic director a couple months into filming?

James McAvoy has gone from gentle, tiny Scotsman who stars in period dramas to hugely buff action man seemingly overnight and I am surprised.

Right? That seems to be more of the outrage coming from Hoffman and his biggest supporters, doesn’t it? Not that an innocent man is being accused of something, but that the rabble is attacking their ‘betters’.

True, but I haven’t yet heard what the audience at the Way the Dog 20th Anniversary screening were saying. I was thinking more of Hoffman’s celebrity defenders like Rappaport, Ron Perlman (who I usually adore), and the film’s producer, Jane Rosenthal, and their weak-ass excuses.

That, and also “hey, we’re here to see a movie and gawk at famous actors! we paid good money for it!”

I’m surprised he didn’t throw a few not!s in the mix.

the most amazing thing about Michael Rapaport is that he’s a 47 year old white as fuck man that says things like ‘homey’ and ‘homeboy’.
