Heads Up Displays! I immediately notice it every time I drive a car that has one, and I’m immediately grateful for it. Makes driving a lot more convenient having information directly in your line of sight. They’ve been around for decades, so it’s not like it’s cutting edge technology, either! Make it happen!

Yeah, E-Power cars are already all over the place in JP and feature heavily in Nissan’s marketing. No idea how much % of car models with E-Power available are sold as such, but it’s got to be a significant number. Nissan sells tons of Notes in Japan as well. I imagine this car will be a very commonplace sight indeed.

There’s apparently this fantasy at Toyota [and I imagine several layers of the Japanese government and bureaucracy] that somehow hydrogen fuel cells will become this magical alternative energy solution that everybody will want all of a sudden, and they’ll be the only ones ready with their technology and therefore corne

It seems that we still don’t know enough about these two incidents to draw any firm conclusions. [In particular, the Florida one just seems kind of bizarre.]

Just turn all pickups into actual tanks and get it over with already

Exactly. “I’d like to buy from two of America’s most popular car brands, in the most popular car style, in a historically hot car market. How much of a discount will you being giving me?”

Look at this, Big Government is INTRUDING into the lives of citizens! What business do they have knowing what kind of car people drive!? It’s called a FREE MARKET folks, people should be able to drive any car or truck that they darn well choose! Limiting consumer choice is Socialism! The government needs to butt out!

Don’t forget the “lake view effect” of people slowing to gawk at Lake Norman (and, uh, the local wildlife) which always seems to back up traffic on I-77 south just after Mooresville and before Davidson.

Bats gonna bat, what can you do?

Why the Murcialago?

I want to know more about the maniac who imported this thing in the first place!

What, no dust-repellant paper?

Never, ever, ever, talk to strangers at a gas station. Nothing good will come from it. Get what you need and move on. Trust me on this.

JP-based expat here. Japan is a great place to visit for tourism! But I think it could be literally years until the JP gov’t lets foreign tourists back into the country without quarantine. [Olympics excepted of course though, because all of that sweet, sweet corruption.]

Nice!

I live in a particularly earthquake-prone part of the world, so I always fill up around a half-tank. I think of it as a disaster preparedness thing. It helps that I generally don’t have to drive long distances either.

Ford and GM are notoriously gigantic assholes towards suppliers

I had a similar thought. It’s entirely possible that this wasn’t Nintendo’s call to make. We shouldn’t assume that they were the ones to give the go-ahead here.

Gratefully, one of my French co-workers informed me that Flins is pronounced “Flan”. Saved me a lot of potential embarrassment in our next company meeting.
