Then, Wilde spoke to all of us on the internet, gleefully soaking up the drama: ‘As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, the Internet feeds itself. I don’t feel the need to contribute; I think it’s sufficiently well-nourished.’”

the king seems content in his marriage (to, I will stress once again, an underage girl)

That’s because the AV Club wasn’t as shithouse back then.

His gender-nonconforming preference doesn’t conform to my preferred gender-nonconformance.

The subtext of this article seems to be “I’m mad at Harry Styles but I shouldn’t have to tell you why.”

As much as I love Buffy and even with all the Whedon drama, would still call it one of my favorite shows, this does not make me sad. I’m not glad for it either. I’m really more like, “Probably for the best.” 🤷‍♀️

The primary intent of a joke is to elicit a laugh and is usually unserious. I believe Stenberg was being sincere and her primary intent was to voice a complaint.

I didn’t think “the optics are weird” at all. He used his leverage to go to bat for a coworker. That’s great.

Did you even read the article? He did go to bat for her and it made a difference. And Chris Pratt was a much much bigger draw than Bryce. Still is. There is no reason he shouldn’t have been paid more than her.

Given how this guys thinks I am 100% that what comes out of this is a bunch of DC movies that feel like Marvel clones. One liners and quips all day.

And as someone who suffers from mental health disabilities, I find it a little alarming how everyone here is so quick to jump on that bandwagon!

It’s to counteract all the articles that shame people for getting horny about things as well.

You had a valid point and you made it. Flagging the rest of your copy/pasted posts as spam.

I realize that our reading of her intent is subjective, but it’s hard for me to picture someone calling themselves “incomparable” when someone has just compared them to someone else without implicitly denigrating that other person. And not naming names is just standard PR, which is not an especially convincing case,

In my brain, there is a thick line between ripping off and homage, and I rarely have trouble telling the two apart. It’s the difference between respectfully referencing material / honoring it versus stealing it.

This. It’s one thing to not like a genre or be concerned about the state of the industry; but demonstrating you can’t discern, say, Fury Road from Venom disqualifies your take no matter what your achievements in the medium are.

I continue to think that the whole idea of a blood feud between Scorsese and Marvel fans is wildly overwrought. Scorsese basically said Marvel movies weren’t movies. A bunch of people disagreed with him — some loudly, some unnecessarily rudely, but that’s life in the NFL. No one tried to cancel Scorsese. No one tried

None of this works without Iron Man, to the point where the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe was shaped around his worldview, his sense of humor, and his egotism

Nebula should be higher, she might have the best character arc of any Marvel character. And it is amazing that even bald, blue, and made largely of spare parts, Karen Gillan can get it
