And the term “nepo babies” is thrown around at anyone who has a famous parent in the business, whether there’s evidence of wrong doing or not. This is literally someone who tried to have his wife hired and quit when the network wouldn’t.

I love Robbie but saying she’s had a great year without mentioning that both of her films were huge bombs feels almost dishonest, especially since neither film was particularly well-reviewed (although she was). With her Harley Quinn movie not doing very well either, I’m not that optimistic for the prospects of Barbie.…
Quite obviously the Ana De Armas thing is not that important to the movie if it ended up getting cut out entirely, so they could have done without putting her in the trailer at all.
My point is, I’m sure a 4 minute trailer can be constructed out of parts of the movie the creative team is pretty certain are going to make the final cut, and use characters they can be pretty sure are going to remain in the movie.
Similarly, while obviously things can change throughout the production process, surely the creative team has a good idea what scenes and characters are essential to a movie and will stay in, and which are more tangential and subject to getting cut…only include the former scenes in the trailer.
Or maybe the film is disappointing but not outright bad. This reads like a “I wish it was better” type of review to me.
On one hand, some trailers do look like they’re intentionally misleading, and it’s a good thing that they can be held accountable.
I think she just really wanted to make action movies and was just not as selective as she could have been as a result.
Did she, though? We know that she couldn’t come back because of scheduling conflicts, but that usually means prior engagements. She may never had had the chance to make a choice.
Acting isn’t just a job, it’s also an art form, and artists can still be inspired in their later years. A bunch of actors have been great passed their “retirement age”: Michael Cain, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith,...
I thought the movie transitioned very awkwardly from the Ulysses Klaue half to the Killmonger half, and yes, the final battle was just bad. I liked the first film mostly because I was already a fan of T’Challa and I liked Boseman’s performance, so, there’s really no reason for me to go see this film.
That was definitely the case. It’s pretty obvious that Square Enix wanted to get rid of all their western studios and sold everything as a package, and also why the price was so low.
I don’t watch the show and I don’t follow the royal family, so I don’t have a dog in this fight. I just don’t understand why there was resistance to adding the disclaimer. It’s the bare minimum when you’re creating a history-base fiction, it is even more important when many of the people the show is based on are still…
This is a good trailer, and I liked both previous films. The problem is that Marvel just isn’t as reliable as it used to be and I don’t think I’ll be able to get excited until I read some pretty good reviews.
Keeler might not be a reliable journalist but, estranged or not, if Littlefeather’s sisters says they aren’t Native Americans, it becomes really hard to contradict them. It’s their heritage too.
I don’t know why Netflix didn’t do it in the first place. They themselves described the show as a fiction during promotions; the disclaimer is the bare minimum they had to do.
A scab is a strikebreaker. This isn’t what happened here: Taylor had no contract and the negotiations fell through.
I haven’t changed my mind: Miller’s career is essentially finished. They just happened to have their meltdown at the point where it would have been the most inconvenient for Warner to dump them, so they’re allowed/asked to finish what they started and that will be it.
Secondly, can we finally acknowledge that Bill Murray isn’t worth it? He made some classics back in the day but he is pretty replaceable in my opinion.
That’s about the age Harrison Ford was when he filmed Star Wars. Some actors reached their prime relatively late.
