In some circles, he is indeed as big as a movie star, and that is likely part of the problem. He’s really leaning into the ‘cult’ of cult following. Sure, most of the world has no idea who he is, but he has a very odd dynamic with his fans even without all the weird sex stuff.

I’ve wondered for a few years now why I still hung around in the desert, but seeing things looking ready to spring back to life makes it worth it. I was never a huge commenter but always a prolific reader and am very pleased to see things returning to how they were.

I naively assumed he was joking

Bravo, this is indescribably off-putting in a way I can't put my finger on.

Oh my goodness, an original interview! And an interesting one! I'm very pleased.

I don’t think the issue is with him really at all. He seems charmingly self deprecating. The problem, if there even is a problem, is with fans who don’t understand how pop music is put together and why that would mean a TS concert is constructed very differently from your average guitar + drums + bass rock concert.

From now on this shall be known as osteoporosis gossip.

I swear I'm not trying to be contrarian, but I was sadly underwhelmed by the film. My kids liked it but inexplicably preferred IF. As for me, I thought Turning Red was a much better portrayal of puberty. At least that movie acknowledged the existence of periods. The stakes were much higher in the first Inside Out

Wise woman, your grandma.

I haven't been following this AT ALL but yeah wasn't there just a shooting at Drake's home? Kind of makes this seem a lot less fun.

Maaan that sucks. I’m glad the screening caught it for you. I have ulcerative colitis so am very aware of colon stuff and the possibility of future surgery, but without the extra stress load from cancer and that well-meaning emphasis on survival that so many people seem to specifically direct towards those who have or

Very true. Especially something like MS. I don't have MS but I do have a chronic illness and the external pressure to be positive and fix yourself through food/yoga/sleep/vibes is immense. I'm not even sure how I feel about the word "survivor" in the article. People can use it as a label for themselves, and maybe

Well I guess I need to find a way to see this weird movie now.

He was on a press tour and of course rather than ask about the project he’s worked on and promoting, old relationship questions came up instead. Very stupid and unfair but part of the stupid and unfair game that is the film industry. Certainly no justification for "whatever" paradoxical delusional fans throw at him.

I look forward to seeing Kinds of Kindness.

It’s fine. It just follows the shifting “relative timeline rules of, say, The Simpsons or comic books.

I really enjoyed this review, and not just because I'm Canadian and thus susceptible to getting unreasonably excited whenever Canada is mentioned in American contexts.

Do kids these days really not understand sarcasm? That was not a difficult sentence to understand.

Okay not a movie but I've gotta say Jeff Rosenstock - Craig of the Creek.

My kid started learning “the middle” on guitar and that really messed with my sense of time since I so strongly associate it with being in high school, not with having a nine year old. Even now I'm like wait... when did that song come out? Is my brain playing tricks on me?
