They have to do whatever it takes to give a Lightning to everyone that wants one, pre-order or not, all before the upcoming competition swoops in to steal market share.
I agree they can’t afford to botch the launch of the lightning, but they have nearly 3yrs worth of preorders. I think its important for every dealer to have a demo car but it will be years before they will sell to anyone without a preorder. At the end of the day, even the demo truck may be enough to earn more orders.
I have rented with Turo a few times without any issue, but the last time I actually DID deserve some sort of charges and got nothing. I took the car for a 3 week road trip and took a good amount of pictures beforehand, but not enough. I didn’t take a picture of all 4 tires, or that much in the trunk, or the…
Focus ST but they don’t sell it in USA
I saw one a few weeks ago at a ski mountain I regularly go to. Skis were mounted on the roof FWIW
sales numbers are more an indication of what the manufacturer builds, rather than what people want.
The ‘it won’t pull my horse trailer’ crowd may be noisy on the internet, but it really isn’t that big.
Its worth noting, Jan 2022 was spent fulfilling preorders. Every vehicle produced was pre-sold. Aside from the Santa Cruz, all other competitors are experiencing sustained sales. I will be interested in seeing the monthly sales figures after the preorders are filled. This is no doubt a hit but the numbers are a bit…
PS: Skip the roof top tent, heavy and expensive.
With $4.4m on tap, are we at all concerned that fuel transport and delivery will just change forms? They siezed what appears to be a 1000-1500gal tank of diesel. Couldn’t they just buy more? Won’t people start delivering fuel from their pickup’s auxillary transfer tanks?
Wouldn’t hurt! Even if they brought it over with only the CVT, it would likely sell well
I did a MR2 for 10+ years as my only car.... You aren’t getting two pallets of stone into anything “light duty”.
We had that weather on Friday. I had to [wanted to] drive up to my cabin that night and it was such a terrible drive. Its been a while since the roads were that bad. Normally its just snow here but it was rain(prevents pre-treating), then freezing rain/sleet, then snow on top. By the time I got to the cabin I had 1/2"…
I would agree with you, especially if you can benefit from AWD, but its also not a stellar interior. The drivetrain is great, but the Civic interior is better
Perhaps using a 50 passenger bus like it’s a 4 passenger car isn’t the best idea ever...
Apart from BRZ they don’t really have anything desirable.
Or a new WRX hatch.
NOT for someone that has had the dedicated performance/sport platform vehicle.
The trick is to be super subtle about it, my guess is the raptor was doing something similar.
