we´re defending against sponsored trash journalism, that´s all.

big deal. ESO took 7 years. GW2 took 5 years. SWTOR took 5 years. You really don´t have clue, don´t you.

Welp this is the only space sim I still have hope for that will live up to expectations so I’m not really bothered by having to wait for it.

I feel like the whole reason we see articles like this are because of the games open to view development.

What the helmet situation sounds like is an issue of communication and understanding. Chris looking at the big picture vs the dev seeing a smallish section of the picture Chris is looking at, and neither really being aware of that. And because of this you have two entirely disparate views of what happened. Rather

Long overdue? By November they will reach 2 years of development. Games take time, big and ambitious games take more. Rockstar takes 5 years on average to make their games, you don’t see people complaining. Just be glad that Cloud Imperium are so transparent with the development instead of keeping it under wraps.

Fuck everyone else, take all the time and money you need. It is good to have an icarus every once in awhile; it doesn’t matter if your wings burn off as long as you take us higher.

I must’ve plopped down $250 or something I don’t remember during the original kickstarter. Since then, I’ve seen the revival of space flight games with more than enough to choose from. My $250 donation helped show the industry that there is a demand for those games and that means more to me than $250.

Fortunately he’s come to the point where there are no more “stretch goals”, so the scope shouldn’t change going forward (since about 65m, I think)

I never understood why anyone (including Roberts) thought a game built from scratch of this scale would be done in a year. Any other AAA game built from scratch takes what, 2? 3? 4? years minimum?

Anyone who has been gaming long enough knows that 99% of devs, ESPECIALLY devs who aren’t chained to publishers, will miss some deadlines. That said, the case of Star Citizen is quite a bit longer than that “3-month delay” that seems to be popular.

I’m sorry, two fucking years is not a long time for game development. This is being built from scratch, so they will have to spend a lot of time getting things implemented, let alone optimizing them. Just go back to the videos of any E3 were the game is launched two or three years later: the end result is widely

Seems like the list is pretty set in stone at the moment though: FPS, Multicrew, Social, Persistent Universe, Squadron 42. Pretty much everything that is happening now has been in the pipeline for the past two years. The real issue is that in order for this game to achieve what it wants everything has to be

At this point, I think that you simply have to have faith that Roberts knows what he is doing. He’s not a noob at this, for goodness sake, he did bring us Wing Commander, a game that was a huge milestone to those who owned PC’s back in the day. He’s been doing this for a long, long time and so are, unlike say, the

I just recently built a new computer so when Star Citizen comes out I can play it. Just hope that when it does come out that I do not have to upgrade my current computer to be able to play it.
