I am playing through The Last of Us again. Better half just got us Katamari Forever so that is going to see some play when I don’t feel like stressing myself out with Last of Us.

I think that it speaks volumes that the chain businesses are feeding the National Guard and nameless, local businesses are feeding the local police officers. Painfully clear who is selling a story and how that is separate from the Baltimore community.

Loads more information on how they solve them, how they’re scrambled, world records for different competitions (blindfolded!), proof both ways that they get the sex and remain hopeless little kids forever and more in this 15 minute film on speedcubing:

This is one of those moments where a child shows you a macaroni art picture of a dog turd and you choke out a “That’s great, kid.” Then he tells you it was inspired by M. C. Escher’s Still Life with Spherical Mirror and a little part of you dies inside.

Thankfully FS & BKV have explicitly said that Saga won’t be adapted into another medium.

I don’t know, as we all just witnessed re: Twin Peaks rights acquisition does not connote creation. Half of these movies are rumors or projects that stalled out years ago. The other half are barely in production if in production at all. I like the idea of this article, but the content is spread a little too thin.

Normally the legal restrictions keeping good things from being made is where I tune out, but it is comforting to know that out there somewhere Jim Shooter is still cocking things up for somebody else so it gets done his way.

I have been enjoying the heck out of Powers, I almost trust Sony to do these movies because they are striving to do something different and the titles they are going with actually are something different.

XO seems to me like an easy sell to the Iron Man crowd. Plus it’s got vikings, people will watch pretty much anything with vikings involved.

I saw White God this week and it was fantastic. The film Mundruczó did before this, Tender Son, is a complicated and much-loathed deconstruction of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. I found it tragic and compelling. I can also see why people don’t like it, it’s pretty unforgiving.

DUANE!!!

I think it was being exposed to books out of my depth that made me turn away from the crappy series novels (my gateway out of the children's library) and read better stuff. It was probably the Hobbit that first sent me to the real sci-fi/fantasy stacks, but I soon found myself hooked on Piers Anthony's blend of the

YES.

You can win the game, and still be toast. Just ask Tywin Lannister.

Also there's that one time he slept with Typhoid Mary and had her committed the next morning.

So Blade Runner 2 is essentially going to be Slan.

You make a couple of GREAT points here, re: a cohesive Vertigo look. I totally agree it lends it a darker air that works to aid the story.

You can see them better but they are all drab, boring colors. For me, that's a push.

That guy passed his creative peak a long time ago. He sees something in Amanda Palmer; I can no longer trust his judgement.
