I’ve never fully understood this. If enough people vote for the candidate that most aligns to their positions and values, THAT makes them electable. The side effect of our obsession with electability is that it creates an enthusiasm gap because we don’t pick the person we want, but the person we think might win.

White house staffers often hold court in the Trump hotel, forcing you to stay (or at least go to) Trump Hotel.  If you meet them at the white house, one of their first questions is where are you staying. I don’t think his thinking is that advanced. But to your suggestion, it’s not a bad one, but the current situation is that Israel controls all of those areas, wants to keep it that way, wants to keep other religions out, and wants to make their capital the center of all of it.

The fact that they keep pursuing it is interesting. I wonder if they’ve offered him a (reasonable) plea deal or just keep hounding him to try to make an example of?

They’re fine with joining because it was a standing issue. They’re happy to allow gerrymandering in substance. Also, if you do the math, there are more GOP Attorneys general than Dems. So, this precedent can prevent a Democratically controlled house or senate from disputing a gerrymandered state.

Yes, but isn’t VA was subject to special oversight under the remnants of the Voting Rights Act.  So, VA might be a special case.
