Barr and the GOP rely on Democrats obsession with decorum and civility. Sadly, they’re right.
Apologies- you’re right. I was speaking to the weird “imputed” rent problem with CPI, which varies a lot more in cities than rural areas. To get a common number, they assume you don’t own your home, but what you would pay in rent to get a similar home.
Wages are rising faster than inflation, and have been for some time. But the CPI is at best, a clumsy estimate of the cost of living and doesn’t factor regional economic issues.
So much this. You see it already. It’s the Frank Luntz-ification of economic populism. Talk about corporations paying their “fair share,” but lower taxes because that’s what’s fair. ‘Access to healthcare’ means you have access to it (if you can afford it). Middle class tax cuts means small tax cuts for the middle…
But the real unemployment rate is 30%.
2009: 9.9%
2010: 9.3% -0.6%
2011: 8.5% -0.8%
2012: 7.9% -0.6%
2013: 6.7% -0.4%
2014: 5.6% -1.1%
2015: 5.0% -0.6%
2016: 4.7% -0.3%
2017: 4.1% -0.6%
2018: 3.9% -0.3%
Absolutely- if you have the time and interest to be there from 7:30 to 11:30, have at it. And if you want to show up at the party, right when it starts, you can do that too.
Citation needed. The unemployment rate has been steadily dropping since 2009.
The GOP is setting up their primaries to prevent that.
I live two blocks from U Street music Hall and 3 blocks from 9:30, so I know of what you speak. (Tip- consider the rooftop of DC9 or Cortez)
This logic also applies to concerts. Leave when it’s scheduled to start (assuming they have an opening act). That gets you the last 15ish minutes of the opening act and time to get a beer and find your spot.
He reminds me a bit of middle-era Wayne Rooney. Not the fastest, or best dribbler, but always put himself in the right spot and a good finisher.
You’re lucky that your employer provides the opportunity to do that. Many people I know either: a) aren’t give a “meaningful” opportunity to take that much time; or b) it’s used against them during review/promotion times.
You should have checked state law. My company said they’d only pay out up to 180 hours. State law says they must pay it all.

This doesn’t seem to control for death from unnatural causes. In poor neighborhoods, deaths from crime, drugs, etc. pulls down the average life expectancy. Both are tragedies and both need to be addressed.
I think the point of the article is that even black folks get that a democratic president that doesn’t help them is much better than Trump, who actively tries to harm them.
And yet, despite all that, he’s much better than Trump. I’ll hold my nose and vote for him.
Nah- that’s more Stephen Miller’s or Ted Cruz’s thing. Hannity is more of the college dropout who’s parents kept pulling strings for him to get jobs as he failed upward.
