I think probably the best thing they could add would be a timer mechanic for a “hard” mode. Add a limited amount of Time before Zelda loses out against Ganon. Gives you that incentive to really play through and force you into going to confront Ganon, whether you’re ready or not.

They existed in game, but there were some that were uncatchable without other games to assist in doing so. You needed like Fire Red / Leaf Green if you wanted the whole collection. Which if you can only afford one game a generation, is effectively the same as this. Hell, if you only had a single version of the games…
