It’s not manslaughter if it’s justifiable homicide. If Gasser believed he faced an imminent threat of great bodily harm or death then he was not wrong to use deadly force. 

You cannot hold someone without probable cause. Probable cause requires that it was more likely than not that a crime was committed and it was more likely than not that this man committed that crime. In this situation is is not more likely than not that a crime was committed because he had the right to defend himself
