Until there’s stiff penalties and jail time, no large corporation will ever care about the security of your data or information.

I do wonder, why were these people sentenced to life without parole while others who have killed the same number of people aren’t.

Many psychopaths live perfectly normal lives. There’s really no evidence a psychopath is anymore likely to harm others than an average person.
