As someone from outside of the US the whole culture of suing everyone that was in a 10 mile radius of something bad that has happened to you, really boggles the mind.

It made me chuckle. As a European I see vehicles like Fiestas towing little light weight trailers like that.

I don't see any of the people you're talking about - just that one person that almost becomes an ambulance hood ornament. Everyone else seems to be using the crosswalk. . . . .

It is odd. I think it has to do with the way manuals are perceived in each continent/country: in Europe, they're the 'ordinary' transmission. The default. The thing your car just has.
