My daughter used to be THE WORST about telling her brothers that such-and-such toy was "FOR GIRLS/BOYS!" It took several talks with her to get her to see the light. Seriously frustrating. Now she tells people all the time that toys are for all kids, and it doesn't matter what they want to play with. Super cute.

It's really too bad. I thought this was one of the best pilots I'd seen in a long time, if not ever.

You just described my four year old. He LOVES painting his nails and clamors to have his done every time I paint my daughter's nails.

I would kind of love that. But then my daughter would be campaigning hardcore for the master bedroom. That's not gonna fly ... she's five. So I'll content myself with the Cabbage Patch sheets. :)

Amen.

Wait, there are prequels to the Star Wars trilogy? Where?! Are they any good?

If it doesn't have anything to do with anything, why bring it up? I'm not the PC police, but I am the mother of a child with autism. When/if you have kids of your own and people negatively stereotype them for something they have no control over, you can get back to me on how "annoying" I am.

The first time I read IT I was scared so badly I made my sister go to the bathroom with me for about 3 weeks running.

My bf asked my opinion on this article and linked it to me ... before even reading it I responded to him, "Female avatars* show twice as much skin as male avatars* do on Second Life. Fixed that headline for you." And yeah, reading the study confirms my suspicions. The sex of the avatar doesn't confirm the sex of the

Feminists don't hate showing skin. That's ridiculous.

What do I do on Sundays? Pretty much the same things I do on Saturdays, and it drives me bonkers when businesses have limited hours on Sundays. :/ Aside from that, Giftmas is for the kids and our circle of family and friends has made it all about family time and spoiling our spawn with fun, food, and stuff.

Our family is atheist and we do the whole bit - trees, big meal, gifts, songs (the secular ones anyway because I'm picky about what I teach my young kids), and spending time with family. We call the holiday "Giftmas" between us and talk a lot about Santa and the Grinch and Scrooge, and it's a nice time to celebrate

I totally had those sheets. I'm pretty sure my dad still has them stashed in his (voluminous) linen closet. They're nearly translucent, they've been washed so many times.

There's nothing wrong with autism. Processing information differently from non-autistic people doesn't make you a creep, a jealous weirdo, or a swearing maniac. How dare you stereotype those with autism and then get offended when people call you on your bullshit.

Not all those who divorce end up with a 50/50 parenting split situation even if the couple originally agree to that setup. I am divorced and even though we have joint custody on paper, he spends probably one weekend a month with the kids. I am essentially a single mother.

I sort of loved them, until I realized they were all banged out by captive monkeys on typewriters following a formula to be published under the VC Andrews name. :/

I feel left out. I am downloading some textbooks now. :/

Thanks for the recommendation! Latin has been on my list of things-to-learn-at-some-point for a while now, so time to get to it. I'm glad it'll be fun into the bargain. :D

I actually have started collecting them, they're so damn funny. I have a shorthair plush tortie who feels like one of those expensive teddy bears, a sleek longhair tortie who looks like polished brazilwood, a baby tortie who looks like a Norwegian Forest Cat, and a medium hair dilute kitten too. They're all spoiled

Thanks for the heads up. I'm always happy to chip in my viewpoint. :)
