Where I live, non-chain restaurants open on the holiday are almost all serving a buffet.  I’ve never had a bad one, with choices of turkey, roast beef, and ham, a wide variety of sides, and an equal variety of desserts available.  The drawback is not having leftovers, so I’ve usually done a turkey the next day, too.

He was the best James Bond, though.

Small potatoes, preaching to the choir after they’ve spent the last two years depicting Joe Biden as clueless and demented.  Pick a side...

Her opponent ran a crappy campaign but yes, too many Mainers fell for her “Good Old Susan” cosplay.

They are ALL loaded with salt. Fun now and then but not something you should eat regularly.

This is nowhere NEAR a throwing-under-the-bus. This is an administrative functionary quibbling about timing. Does it need to be addressed?  Yes. Is it worth a lurid, potentially voter-suppressing headline?  No.

A damn fine menu at any occasion!

My guess is that Reaves has too much class to respond, unless he’s going to regale us with some reason why Perry doesn’t like him and apologize for it.

Gee, according to the national political media, the only story here is that Hobbs is “chicken” about debating. They somehow miss the variety of damn good reasons that Hobbs might not want to share a stage with a vicious, Trump-sucking liar.

There are people who get the fish sandwich at McDonalds thinking it’s a health option. Because of the breading, salt, and frying, it’s actually the least healthy single serving option on their menu.

While more meat may be a hallmark of American Thai food, I can testify that my local Thai place (and I do love them!) counts their shrimp very carefully.

Yup.  Concentrate on the “outside of the store.”

We don’t have the all night markets but our local chains all open at 7:00 AM.  I joined the early shoppers’ club at the start of COVID and will likely stick with it.

From what region do you hail? I’ve been wasting oxygen for nearly seventy years and have never seen a Circus Peanut other than orange-ish. I’ve never really been drawn to them but my dad would go through bags of them in his later years. He gave his sweet tooth a pretty free range after my mom passed away.

Ah but people in the “heartland’ are having to pay more for milk and gas. It’s irrelevant that nobody in the Democratic Party is responsible for either of these or that food companies and energy companies are making record profits OR that the Republicans have made no statements that would lead one to think they’ll do

Lots of good suggestions here. I’ll refrain from getting all Julia Childish because I’m retired, “comfortable,” and have a decent array of kitchen tools and space, attributes unavailable to a lot of young people and families. Relax as best you can, share the load, and enjoy your family/friends. Oh, and ditch that diet

Nobody needs a disc golf park. All you need to play disc golf is some public space and imagination.  And an edible or two.

Good mixed in with ice cream or yoghurt and fruit. It’s tasty heated with milk or water and a drizzle of honey.

Hogging, in any circumstance, is a real no-no. That includes declaring a machine you are not presently on as part of your workout and the practice of taking multiple sets of weights to a bench for your progression workout. You “own” a machine while you are physically on it. Period. If you step off between sets ( and

I ate a LOT of Hormel’s chili (with beans) as a kid and have always loved the stuff.  I don’t eat it any more, though, nor any other canned chili just because it is all so gawd-damned salty.  You’d think SOMEONE would make a low salt version for those of us who are older and wiser.
