The comments on the Slate version of this story are horrific. No empathy, no compassion, just anger that this little girl's mother broke the law by being here. I was so excited about this but the Kennedy announcement was a gut punch. Also, I saw someone mention this on twitter about how differently women candidates are reported on. In so many headlines, they failed to even mention her name. And once I read that, it was impossible to not notice.
