Maybe, maybe not. I’m more sensitive to it because I was one of those people, and there is literally NO understanding at my college about that...which is frustrating, to be condemned alongside people who “just don’t care.” I think the point is though that it’s impossible to KNOW why people didn’t vote, so it’s really

That’s pretty horrible, but at the same time, most people have relatives who could potentially take the child, at least for a little while—or if nothing else, some sort of school or state-run institution? I mean, I DO think people should be allowed to adopt their children out if they like, at ANY age, because it’s

younger women date men like that cuz of father issues, or cuz we’re brutally insecure. So maybe those girls couldn’t have a conversation cuz they were petrified, probably half-starved, and had no self-esteem [otherwise they wouldn’t be dating his ass]

Um, this is an insulting way to describe people.

anyone who categorizes people by “hot” or “average” needs to grow up a lot before they start dating.

This is EVERY “in his late thirties” [and has been for the last twenty years, btw] guy writer who’s achieved some minor success and now thinks he’s the shit.

I am so extraordinarily over the term “hot.” Like, yes, please do extrapolate from your personal preferences onto what literally every other human on the face of the earth finds [sexually] attractive. That is totally a reasonable and not at all egotistical or nonsensical or bizarre move.

I think that’s very true. It’s definitely true of many white women I know. Plus many people who are light-skinned but have been victimized by racism at various times throughout history have been the “wrong kind” of Christian, or have been Jewish.

Yup. Give privilege to some racial groups who previously didn’t have the equivalent of white privilege, gotta find someone new to oppress.

I agree with you, but I was going for a “not all Republicans agree with Trump on every issue” more general statement. I think Republicans probably DO agree with Trump on immigration—at least, the Tea Party types do, while the Old Guard seems to be standing in stunned silence.

I agree, and I think it’s a more complicated idea than “not all men.” I definitely believe I’m implicated in white supremacy by having white privilege, but I think white privilege itself is a way more complicated thing than being about skin color because plenty of racial groups in the U.S. have not always had white

NO, basically what I’m saying is that Jews have been bombed and gunned down in Europe for the past decade or so, and are being threatened similarly in the United States, in ways that make it clear that antisemitism is alive and well. Meanwhile, what is antisemitism if not another word for “racism towards Jews”? So

I don’t think Republicans really want what Trump is doing, I think they’re too scared to stop him. What his policies will result in won’t serve Republican interests or goals any more than Democrats’.

He doesn’t care about “legal” anymore.

We already live in a police state. This is more like the start of a military coup.

No fat-shaming, please.

OHkay. I didn’t vote, but also I was dealing with major psychological issues at the time and could barely drive myself to school and back without totally breaking down at the time.

I think it was a failure of the political system, too. If Trump hadn’t somehow gotten the Republican nomination [probably by buying it], Matt Ryan or whoever would now be president—still gross, but not quite as evil.

I mean, one of the most interesting pieces of U.S. history though is that such an order WOULD HAVE included these peoples only a hundred years ago or so. There was a time when they constituted separate racial categories in the U.S., until they didn’t anymore.

Um, we weren’t so horrible en masse? En masse means all together. 54% is barely even more than average.
