Why does this even have to be just about women? what’s the point?

WORD. I cannot strike, because I do not have the kind of job where I can do that. I also cannot skip class on a whim because I want to graduate. I’d like the “women’s” movement to begin talking about activism I can actually take part in, please.

I mean, it is a little annoying to me that the already-perfectly-fantastic movie is being remade, and we are yet again ignoring the reality that WOC have for years been obligated [read: forced] to bear white men’s children on behalf of infertile rich white women, and that other issues related to reproductive

That’s an interesting idea. Maybe? I don’t know that anyone actually reads our campus paper outside of our school cuz we’re such a small school. Some ppl have contacted me recently about writing, including a few WOC who I’ve been really wanting to get involved for a while [not cuz they’re WOC, because they’re badasses

I think so much of this just comes up in daily life, too. Like-one of my female friends hugged me a few months ago and started rubbing her face against my shoulder, and I was really uncomfortable and eventually pulled away but I didn’t say ‘do not ever do that again.’ I think we’re taught to have crappy boundaries

I’m kinda thinking you shouldn’t be hitting on women in a feminist thread.

WORD-always the girl on bottom, so it’s probably perfectly comfy for the guy

I think it’s just kind of a possessive thing-like, the guy owns the truck, it’s his beer, it’s a date he planned, and he’s gonna get you out of your dress because that’s what he wants. I mean, you’ll notice that the women in these songs are almost inevitably silent, and do very little in the way of a come-on aside

Fuck, there’s work we ALL need to do. I’m willing to figure out how to be a white ally but I expect the same kind of support from POC towards other marginalized people. We need to broaden the convo.

They’re not my own, though. Most of them aren’t. We don’t-there is not a white community really.

I think part of the problem with the internet is people can’t have private in-community convos anymore. So like-probably it would be best if POC and Black women especially could talk about how fucked up some of the performative allyship is in private, but still court those people so they could get something out of it.

WORD

There’s also the reality of forced sterilizations of POC and women labeled insane and disabled, which labels tend to accrue to poor women. So that.

I mean I mostly agree with you.

Start acting in the spaces you are in. Notice racism when it happens and call it out and respond to it in a way that diminishes it.

I mean, in some ways I agree. I feel like I get yelled at for not doing enough then yelled at when I go to events that POC put on, if I talk or take up space or breathe too loudly. So it’s hard.

I mean, I tried to bring up wanting people to not say racist things in my workplace and my boss made it a convo about ppl not listening to loud rap music cuz he doesn’t like rap music. so like-yeah.

Can I ask a question? If it’s okay?

Hey um-I mean I back you up 100% on most of what you said, but also-I’m Jewish and my cultural identity is pretty important to me too. I mean, some distinct cultures within whiteness are alive and well.

wait what just happened? what is that quote about? Did I miss something?
