Additional adventures in guardianship: The IRS has many forms and instructions to help a guardian file taxes for their person. They all add up to being incomprehensible. I just want to know whether I can send form 56 and then e-file the tax return.

That's so incredibly bizarre. I had an endoscopy several years back and there wasn't any prep needed except not eating after a certain time the night before. I can't believe they'd hand you a pamphlet telling you that the highly-unpleasant prep was for an endoscopy - that seems very deceptive.

For the past 8 months and counting, my life and that of my family has been turned upside down by an elderly relative who lives in another state. This summer she suddenly began hallucinating, harassing the neighbors, and otherwise behaving in ways that scare the people around her. She has stayed in my house for

I did not enjoy Queen of the Tearling either. I'm slogging through A Discovery of Witches at the moment, wishing I could give the brilliant yet apparently helpless heroine a slap in the back of the head. It might be time to give up on it.

What these people are doing is tantamount to child abuse. Choosing not to take simple steps against preventable, often-fatal diseases simply because one believes, in the face of all science (and common sense) to the contrary that vaccines are "chemicals" and "toxins", is sheer insanity. Why does any organization,

I want to grab a handful of the back of her dress and clip it, the way stores do with mannequins. It's even a good color for her skin tone (unlike some previous looks) so the fact that it fits so poorly is extra-sad.

Congratulations on making it out alive!

"Before we go to bed I will, maybe, tell Sheila I've got to get a glass of water and she'll have the temp up around 78 degrees," Jim Hagan said. "I will walk down the hall and I will switch it over to, say, 72 or 71 degrees, something like that."

Oh, I'm sure they also have that rather different perspective on love - but the fact that Leelah was sent to see multiple "therapists"* who essentially tried to make her conform strikes me as a fear-based response.

This was really the line from the CNN article that made me start crying:

Bravo to this young woman for standing up to this offensive nonsense and so eloquently arguing her point. I am sad, but not surprised, that FOTF's response is so incredibly tone-deaf (although amused that they refer to a sex-ed class as a "challenging situation").

I have a deep and abiding love for all of my KitchenAid attachments, but I am particularly in love with the citrus juicer. Among other things, I make a lemon tart that requires a lot of fresh lemon juice - and this thing gets the most juice out of each lemon.
