I always thought "normal" was descriptive not prescriptive. If, statistically, most people do or think a certain way, it's "normal." The entire field of sociology is built on this premise (so is marketing, psychology, economics, etc.). Saying "fuck normal" is really nonsensical. Plus, are there really cultural norms…

Did these people "earn" their spots at Berkeley. They had some sort of privilege. Financial, parental, cultural. Very few Berkeley kids are unprivileged.
