Your the one who seems to feel that not criticizing something implies support.

Qatar isn’t one of the Emirates though.

He disassembled a clock, put it back together in a fashion that made it look like a bomb and brought it to school. Sorry but...no. The kid was playing a game and he lost.

That’s why I said “they,” as in the family. His parents should be making the best choice in the best interests of their child. Also, in high school I had a large say about where I wanted to go to school. He’s 14, not 6. He also mentioned the fact that his father doesn’t have a job and his family lives in a confining

They’ve been playing the incident up in the media ever since it occurred, doing things like publicly issuing a threat to sue instead of actually suing, moving to Qatar, and talking to anyone who would listen about it. The family (mostly the dad), is obviously interested in cashing in on Ahmed’s misfortune.

Southern racism is overrated and hides the actual truth: it’s everywhere.

What happened to him was super shitty and messed up, but that doesn't make this family any less insufferable. They're not mutually exclusive things.

Whatever. He got invited to the White House by Obama. He got praised to high heavens in the media. What happened to him was an outrage and it definitely sucks to be thrust in the public eye willy-nilly but the sum total of what he & his got out of this was not “death threats” but a lucrative money offer to move to

Myeah. There goes my sympathy for the kiddo’s folks.

Because Qatar has more money than God and thought they could buy the kid and his family for good publicity. The dad doesn’t have a job because his “job” was to move the family to Qatar. I bet that “scholarship” supports the entire family more than any job would.

He won’t. I feel for his situation and it made me angry and the school district deserves to be punished.

The problem is that only disadvantages all the children of the school district who are already struggling for resources. It’s really a lose/lose situation.

I can’t say I’m overly sentimental regarding how “boring” life is in Qatar. That was a decision they freely made, knowing the pros and cons.

So they do allow black fliers?

Maybe the attendant would be less uncomfortable if the women had been really easily identifiable. On a government registry or something-and you knew they were registered because they wore like-I don’t know-a patch! Like a moon and star or that seems complicated! Just a star? And that way they’d know these are “good”

This is why I only fly Trump airlines. No Muslims, Mexicans, disabled people, or crying babies to have to worry about. And they cut holes in the pillow cases so you can see out of them when you wear them as a hood, too!

And now proven to be a reactionary and wrong one at that.

maybe now a correction/retraction without the dang snark would be in order on this piece. And i'd

Reading back at these comments Anna you look incredibly stupid and rather arrogant. Everyone has a right to question a story, hence the reason writers use editorials, to express opinion. Lucky for you Jezebel is a low level "news" agency, and you will essentially face no scrutiny.

Looks like everyone in this thread needs to help themselves to a hefty serving of crow.
