Pence will be our defacto president as is. He’s a monster, but his views are so extreme (even for some conservatives), I think he’s popularity will tumble fast once he is being more closely scrutinized.

Don’t kid yourself. Pence and others will be running the government either way. Trump is just in charge of the 3am tweets and waving at the cameras. He’s never run his own businesses before. Why would he run the government? He has people. The best people. To do that for him. It’s a lot of work, after all.

Yeah I’ve been thinking the same thing. It is likely that impeachment is in his future. Honestly, Pence is worse than Trump when it comes to women’s and LGBT rights (God, he is evil), but I guess the one upside to having him as prez would be that he wouldn’t just nuke everyone because a world leader was mean and hurt…

And thenow we’re stuck with Pence as president though, right? That’s almost worse... :o(

The people in my life who were Bernie bros or other third-partiers and spent the last year DRAGGING hillary and then either didn’t vote for her when it counted or else smugly confessed to holding their noses and voting for her are now all upset and panicking and it makes me want to fucking scream.

Just watched a doc about a west Virginia town that is almost entirely addicted to oxy. Mainly due to loss of jobs in the coal industry. That said, I doubt a coal resurgence could help save the lost ones now, but what their kids need is a totally new industry that doesn’t end in Cancer.

I don’t understand the desire to bring back coal mining jobs. It’s literally sickening, dirty, back breaking work. Why do people want to hold on to a ‘way of life’ that sent their fathers and grandfather to an early grave? Should we bring back whaling too? Plenty of unemployed people in SE Mass.

Ya maybe there are good reasons some regulations are longstanding? This whole speech sounds vaguely reassuring if you don’t think about it at all, but it doesn’t make any fuckin’ sense if you do.

No no but don’t you know? Alex Jones and other alt-righters white supremacists announced that they have proof that at least 3 million undocumented immigrants voted for Hillary so she didn’t really win the popular vote.

I can’t bear to hear (and/or see) him speak anymore. I turned off the TV mid-victory speech and that’s it. That voice burns holes in my heart and soul.

Even if clean coal existed, it’s expensive compared to natural gas ... so the coal jobs aren’t coming back unless natural gas becomes prohibitively expensive (which also creates a different economic problem).
