I just looked up the dates. I was a junior in high school when Bill Nye came out. Not that I was ever above watching kids shows— I watched Animaniacs and Batman TAS right through high school and into college. But I never watched Bill Nye. Same with Pokemon. I just missed it really.

There is plenty of wealth to go around in this country. Make sure everyone has a bare minimum. If people want more money or like working, they can try to go find a paying job. The rest of us can keep things going by volunteering and doing other things to create community.

Yeah, this is everyone I knew in grad school 10 years ago. The references were different, but the pretension was the same. It was maybe even me a tiny little bit sometimes, god help me.

HA! I worked in retail for a decade. Even when I stopped, I had such a default “friendly face” that people would ask me for help when I was shopping. I would just look in their direction with a pleasant look on my face, so they would ask me to help them.
