You can also re-sell the stuff better if you buy gender-neutral. Because most parents would put their little girl in a used green carseat, but almost no one will put their little boy in a used pink one. (At least where I live.)
My daughter doesn’t love pink. Usually her favorite color is black (and she’s six!), but she LOVES frilly princess skirts. It makes her genuinely unhappy to have to go to school in a pair of jeans.
I got a lot of hand-me-downs, so I got a lot of pink. But I flat-out refused to put those enormous bows on my baby’s head. She was a BABY. She did not need a bow on her bald head, and IDGAF if people think she’s a boy.
