The sad part is that most of us knew that but we just...didn’t. I equate it to brainwashing but you’d never get anyone in any capacity of authority at Amazon to agree with that. Several times in my time there we would have union reps in the parking lot asking for names and giving cards, and associates would tell

The line was usually that the company was paying “competitively” compared to other jobs in the industry. The best they (the associate) could do was sign up for additional shifts, which was made easier by apps installed in the scanners and accesssble via smartphone.

I worked for Amazon for three years. As true as this article is, it will absolutely never happen. It needs to. Desperately. But it won’t.

Rangers didn’t want it, either. They offered up the Globe with the Astros as the home team and would give them all of the revenue from those three games. Astros said “no.” So, they went to the Trop.

Just popping in to say hello from a fellow Fort Worth native.

This reminds me: I see fewer and fewer truck drivers wearing seat belts these days. Even some of my own colleagues driving company equipment...

I suppose that it will depend on how long ago he received his Multi-Engine rating. I can’t speak for all pilots but I know that I don’t practice emergency procedures as often as I should. Instinct is supposed to take over in emergencies but most bug-smashers don’t have the hours upon hours needed to overcome the panic

This is typically true. Engine-out procedures on T/O for the C310 call for the landing gear to come up past 90~ knots and to climb out, trim out, and return to the airport. Having the legs out for the duration would certainly make flying the airplane harder.

Even with the size of the airplane, a single engine should be enough to climb from takeoff, climb out, and return to land even with a full load of passengers, baggage, and fuel. There are specific procedures in the “red” checklist that detail what to do during engine-out situations. I have my Multi-Engine rating and

Secretly?

They still require it. I had to when I got mine.

+1 dot-dot-dash

He said later in the thread he’s a tanker truck driver. I have to wonder what company hired him with a rap sheet as long as his is claimed to be. Most of the bigger motor carriers don’t look too kindly on stacks of moving violations...

I had “FOXMAN3" as my California plate for all 4 years I was out there. On an ‘07 Impala, no less.

I’m flying to Phoenix today for work. I was hoping to get some sleep this morning but I did not. I spent my morning calling my representatives’ offices. Senators Cruz and Cronyn and Congresswoman Granger (12th District of Texas). I spoke to an aide (I guess) at Congresswoman Granger’s office and left messages at the

My in-laws have bought ten Mazdas from a local Mazda dealer over the past several years. I bought 2 from the same place. We’re Mazda people. Hell, my father-in-law is getting the launch edition of the new MX-5.

My wife will sing that song to my 3-month-old and he absolutely loves it. That has to be one of my wife’s favorite shows, ranking right up there with Zootopia.

As someone who also works in shipping/receiving at a warehouse, I feel your pain and completely relate to every one of these scenarios.

There also wasn’t a lifeboat drill. One has been scheduled that Sunday morning but Captain Smith cancelled it because he wanted to have one more church service before the ship made port and he retired. Though there was a lifeboat drill before the ship left Southampton, it was reportedly no more than a pair of boats

The transverse watertight bulkhead between Boiler Rooms 5 and 6 was described as having been damaged by the heat of the fire but this would have not contributed to the sinking. The location of the impact zone of the iceberg would have vented the sea into Boiler Room 6 regardless of the fire’s location.
