Lol, I’m only playing on a standard hdtv and regular PS4, but clearly this person has either never played a PS3 game or accidentally put Mass Effect 1 in if they think the graphics are that bad. The environments and most of the characters (especially non-humans) all look pretty great to me.

I’m not going to be that guy who calls everyone who dislikes this game a “hater”, because I feel like that shuts down discourse and anyone can see the game has legitimate flaws, but frankly I feel like a lot of this is still residual fury over ME3, and we can argue for days about whether or not that’s justified 5 god…

I have issues with anyone who goes beyond reacting with disappointment, quite frankly. This is a video game, not your new house; anger seems entirely out of line given the issue at hand. And if your income is so tight that purchasing a video game strains your budget to the degree that you view it as a huge investment…

My favourite are people who obsessively compare it to the witcher. And I’m like, go play the first witcher game. W1 is TERRIBLE. Considering this is the first game by a rookie dev, and most of its issues can be fixed with a patch. that’s pretty great. You ever play any of guerilla’s early games? It took them 15 years…

Absolutely. For points 1 and 2, I haven’t played Witcher 3 (not sure why but it just doesn’t interest me - plus I don’t like joining game franchises in the middle) or the other two games (I will play Horizon at some point), so I am fortunate that those don’t influence my judgement at all. I’m loving Andromeda so far.

I really think this game 1) came out post-Witcher 3 without its polish 2) came out right after Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn 3) had huge hype as a follow-up to a large franchise and it just got brutalized. I played it for 70 hours. I don’t get why people are so mad. It’s a solid game. Sure, it’s rough, but in no way does it deserve the hate it’s been getting.

You’re 100% correct. Every review I read compared it to Zelda and Horizon Zero Dawn, which is unfair. I have not played either of those games and have yet to start a Mass Effect Andromeda campaign (still playing through ME3 again) but I’m trying to view it as a game that exists outside of those comparisons.

Meh, haters gonna hate, whining about Bioware characters being poorly animated is just so absolutely laughable. The game is pretty dang good and definitely sets them up for future success.

Well that’s good news. As someone who likes to go to all the planets, getting rid of that sequence will be a help. I’ve kinda taken a who cares attitude about the facial stuff. It’s not enough to lessen the story for me, but a fix is welcome.

That Sombra GIF isn’t really BS though. The opposing team didn’t make it to the point, the Sombra did. They outplayed their opponents and got a win for it without cheating. That’s legit.
