I simply don’t understand how The Drive or TTAC can’t create a good comment system. Unfortunately that is the magic here that keeps bringing me back. And Torch.

This is like 60% the base price of the Ridgeline and actually looks like a truck…. And the base version gets over 40 mpg.   They aren’t remotely comparable and the fact that the Honda doesn’t sell more is no predictor of the Ford’s success.

Didn’t a lot of these cars Dino at like 350 hp?

I’ll prolly regret ungraying you, but he actually isn’t afraid to debate his articles in the comment section, and I find it refreshing. Thinking healthy disagreement or discourse is unacceptable is actually what is wrong on so many levels with Murica.

My last two cars were fwd + snow tires. Was a pain in the arse to store them and change them for the 10-15 days/year that we have snow on the ground here in Indiana. My current car is an AWD BMW because that is the only way that BMW would sell us a wagon, and it did great in the snow with all seasons.    Sure snow

Truth

I’m pretty cynical but I “hope” Ford simply buys a lot of ads when they do big launches as they know they will get more mileage out of the coverage that way.

Probably just the newer ones. Just another “price shock” at replacement time, which I am starting to get used too. Last week I learned that the front control arm bushings are 5 piece hydraulic units that cost $700 to replace at an Indy shop. BMW really goes that extra step.   As a bonus when they fail at 70k miles

The “true auto enthusiast” comment actually wasn’t meant to be condescending, was just describing my coworkers, but I can see how it car read that way.    Either way you get a star for the Beetlejuice reference.

Venting is not that hard. You know that there are cars with whole engines “in the trunk” right? My 3 series wagon battery is under the cargo floor. This isn’t new.

Doesn’t have to be. A compact pickup that gets 40 mpg is pretty special though, and actually more rare than the other two cars you listed… You have issues with them having multiple articles about something interesting, We have a couple of other true auto enthusiasts at my office and the two new recent vehicles that

Was it the Cadillac STS that put them under the seat with no drain holes. And they would often get flooded?

Nonsense. When a Teg smells a crash coming, I cash out of my IRA’s and buy up all kinds of old Craigslist cars, used tires and vintage entertainment centers. Sometimes I invest heavily in bulk mayonnaise from Costco as they have no limit.  I feel like my wealth is protected with such diversity.

A topper would…..  almost make it a wagon!

Doug Demuro already reviewed it and showed himself in the backseat.  Said it is fine.

Very different cars with very different buyer demographics. C8 is a loudly styled mode engine American sports car. Jag is a traditionally styled British front engine roadster.    Different interior feel, very different exterior design, very different buying process, very different stigma of ownership.  Most of the

Yes, I keep beating this drum also.   So many Jalopnik believe that as soon as Manufacturers switch to EV’s the whole national fleet will change overnight.   In reality like 7% of cars on the road are replaced with new annually.

How dare you give a nuanced opinion on Tesla.  HOW DARE YOU!

California is somewhat unique and has a lot of grid power issues due to politics, mismanagement, etc... and these need to be fixed regardless of EV market share.   Generally speaking for areas with better managed grids, EV charging can be scheduled for the evening when demand is low, so it will have barely a

Was speaking more to many posters here that throw around the 1000lb number as the EV weight premium which just isn’t true.   Yeah, all modern cars are fat. That is where we are today with safety regs and all. ICE cars are fat. EV’s are just a little fatter.... typically 10% more or so.  My college car in the 90’s
