I have owned diesels in the past, But the biggest issue with these is that Toyota will sell you a RAV4 hybrid for $28k that gets close to 40 mpg combined.

I agree, but this video was posted in 2018 and she doesn’t work for Jalopnik any longer.  Sadly.

Just like a Wankel?

If anything, the last ten years has been the decade of small displacement, high tech turbo engines.....  but yeah, the list should be a bunch of pushrod V8’s.

I daily drove one for a couple of years before it was totaled. I had a couple of young kids and mountain biked a lot. Was great for kids. The rubber floor and waterproof seats were super easy to keep clean. Dog hair and French fries wiped right out. With seats flipped up, several mountain bikes could roll right

Yep. That C pillar on the Chevy really stands out.

Allegedly they fixed it in 12 or 13 but owners still report high oil consumption.

Yes.  My car came out a few years before BMW started doing car play, but that is a better option.  The BMW actually has a decent nav though with a large screen, 3D buildings and real time traffic.

Mine is a 2014 328i wagon. The idrive in the F30/F31 with nav had this. I’m pretty sure it was shared in a lot of their other models from 2012-2018.

My 2014 BMW has this feature built into I drive where you can write on the button with your finger. Guess what, you can also simply send the address from your phone (either google or Apple Maps) to the nav system and bypass the silly finger writing altogether.   I assume the Genesis has other workarounds?

The issue is that you don’t want your fun weekend car in a specialty shop 28 weeks out of the year waiting for parts to ship. Many parts will break on this, and it won’t all be at once, it will be here and there.... wearing you down over time. You will get it back, have a couple of fun weekends and the check engine

I enjoy Jalopnik, but yeah the New York centric reporting can be a bit much.   I mean if he is the last Saab guy in NYC, he must be the last guy period, right?

Bingo. Emergency departments are complex places and often are huge money losers in a profit driven healthcare system. The fact that they must care for anyone that comes in, means that they are filled with uninsured people with very minor issues that could easily be handled by a less expensive primary care doctor or

The Camry V6 has a power sucking transmission and it’s 0-60 time is comparable to a lot of other cars with 220-250 hp.   It sounds good on paper though.

Well played.

Pretty sure he is doing high level trolling

Jesus did too.  The original hipster.

Agree it would look better, but they are purchased for highway commuting and kid hauling so it would make it louder, get worse mileage, etc....

Hopefully in woke culture we can still use colors and stuff to describe or name things?

Sedans are always going to have a weight and aerodynamic advantage over CUV’s but it is astonishing how efficient these Toyota SUV’s are. My wife has a 50 mile commute each way and drives a Lexus CT200h.  We had assumed her next vehicle in 2-3 years would be electric, but with this new generation of hybrid CUV’s we
