How is the transmission in real world driving? Is it at all engaging to drive ?

IMS still contains part of a golf course.
Indy 500 started as an all day endurance race over 100 years ago. Modern speeds made it less of one. 1911 race was about 7 hours long.
Agreed. I sold my sister in laws on Craigslist for $2k around 10 years ago. Similar mileage and condition but 4 door. My wife had a similar vintage gen 1 CRV at the same time. CRV was worlds better in driving and felt much more substantial.
Correct answer. I hate Nissan CVT’s because it is a bland car wrapped around a bland engine and transmission. General public likes CVT’s. They are smooth, efficient and last forever.
Magnesium is easier to injection cast and can be more easily molded to thinner walls.
I replaced a TDI sportwagen with a GTI with a roof rack/skybox. It does double the usable luggage space but I sometimes miss the cargo area of the wagon with 2 kids and a dog...and think about getting an Alltrack and APR tune. Would have saved thousands already in wheels/tires alone as my GTI doesn’t like the…
They had issues 10-15 years ago. Now they rank top half or mid pack in most brand surveys. The MQB chassis is solid and the modern 2.0t engine is bulletproof and is used in over a dozen Audi/ VW/ Porsche models. Still a German engineered car so a little more maintenance intense than a Corolla and parts will be more…
GTI is more lively than the Golf R. Lighter weight, more tossable, smaller turbo spools more quickly....
Not rewire your house, likely more simple than that, like swap out for a larger panel/service. I have a 100 year old house with an 100 amp service/panel. I’m going to have the panel/ service swapped for a 200 amp which will cost around $2k. Existing wiring is untouched and gets reconnected to new panel. This…
Because this is Jalopnik and people here by 12 year old abused 4 owner BMW’s and then blame the manufacturer when things go wrong. Audi and VW are also high on the list leading me to believe Americans don’t know how to maintain German cars. They aren’t as forgiving as Toyota’s.
That is for each bomber....plus how much for each F35, etc....
Indeed. This is why so many men commute to their office jobs in trucks
... and lubrication doesn’t work as well until oil gets temperature which takes 10-15 minutes on really cold days.
The experience with my 13 TDI was almost opposite of yours. And where do you live? Mine started reliably when it got down to minus 10 a few times here in Indiana. Gas mileage on all cars plummet in extreme cold.
Kyrie went to Duke for about 3 minutes.
I’m not a Tesla apologist, but when you look at car design as a whole, “new models” are often just marketing to convince you to “upgrade”. Many of the tangible improvements could easily be made to the old model.... better tech, HP bump, etc... but consumers think that new look = better. Granted, advancing safety…
I3 is a hatchback, so more flexible. Also you can get them used with low miles for like $13k.
Yep. In college (mid 90’s) I traded my 86 Grand Am with 95k miles for an 85 Civic Si with 115k miles as the Pontiac was burning a quart of oil per week. My parents thought I was crazy as I payed $1500 plus my Pontiac for an older car with higher miles....... but it many ways the Civic was light years ahead of the…
Can confirm. Drove an 85 Civic Si in college with 13” wheels and plastic hub caps. Replaced the tires for less than $200. That car was a blast to drive. Skinny tires felt like they were folding over in hard corners, but that was part of the fun and it had just enough grip to apply all 92 hp.
