So much angst.

Excellent pics and read. Thanks for the pointer!

Good grief, talk about the battle of the d-bags. WT and Camaro are two peas in a pod. What an awful shame that their asshattery took the trucker along for the ride.

I used to get polarized like this towards various cars and their owners, but as the years wore on, I’ve grown more and more to be a live and let live sorta gearhead. In fact I love weird cars, which creates the strange situation of somewhat digging those chunky X6s, especially the Ms with their phat tires.

Great read. I find this ATS to be a damned good looking car. It’s funny, but way back when Cadillac took off on their angular styling route, I thought it was awful. It grew on me, especially in V-form. And the drivetrains! HP/TQ everywhere, wagons, jeebus.

Man would I love to explore one of these in person.

Back in my misspent, gearhead-overload teen years, my best friend had a Bug. Couldn’t tell you how many times we had the engine in & out. He tossed all sorts of parts at it on a regular basis and, by golly, the damned thing was sorta quick. Dangerous as almighty hell, but if I can survive it, anyone can.

Dayum!

Great pics of a great event. Honestly, the Handbuilt is reason enough to hit Austin on MotoGP weekend.

This. I'm in a different dealership every day and you couldn't have put it better.

I had to take speed reading in high school (late 70s). Pretty involved course, too, so we really tried to come to grips with the notion. Verdict? Skepticism confirmed, common sense affirmed. It’s pure BS. Always has been, always will be.

Great read and I agree about seeing America from the road. I've been fortunate to have ridden and/or driven all over the 48 and Canada too many times to count ... And it just never gets old. Kudos for getting out there to soak some of the goodness in! Don't let it be your last road trip...

I don’t get some of the hate I’ve come across for this thing. Looks really handsome and useful to me. And why are people carrying on about its name? It's baffling.

I honestly can't imagine why NORAD would publicly disclose the fact that this thing was not detected on its way in.

What an amazing adventure, Chris. Life changing, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Gee, no one saw this coming.

Get out of any keyless Ford with the fob in your pocket and with car still running and the horn will let you know immediately. Most other manufacturers are doing something similar.

This looks like good fun.

Another fave from back then! Well, the concept was anyway. Production version was sad face on wheels.

I was in love with that concept back then!
